What are the rules of Cacheta?
- Each player is dealt nine cards from two French decks plus jokers; the remaining cards form the stock and the pile.
- On your turn, draw from the stock or the top of the discard pile, then discard one card.
- A card taken from the pile may not be discarded in the same turn.
- Knock when nine of your ten cards split into melds: runs of one suit (ace low or high, never around the corner), sets of three or four different suits, at most one joker per meld.
- When a seat knocks, every other seat still playing loses one life; a seat at zero lives is eliminated.
- The next round is dealt at once and the deal rotates to the next seat still playing.
- The match ends when one seat is left; eliminated seats are placed from the latest round to the earliest, with same-round eliminations tied.
- If the stock runs out, it is rebuilt from the pile minus its top card.
